In this workshop students will first learn how to colour clay. Using batches of coloured clay, students will hand build slab ware eg mugs, plates, small bowls. Methods such as marbling, inlaying and Nerikomi (Japanese word for patterned coloured clay) are explored. 

Part of the afternoon is spent on wheel throwing techniques (some wheel throwing technique required) with coloured clay. Various processes during wheel throwing can produce different effects of marbling and coloured patterns. Those without previous wheel throwing skill will explore hand building techniques.

Finished pieces will be tidied up , bisque fired and then glaze fired ready for pick up in 2 weeks time.
