Vessels From a One-piece Press Mould Workshop Sat 4th April
Vessels From a One-piece Press Mould Workshop Sat 4th April
When: Sat 4th April
From: 10-4pm
Teachers: Connie Lichti
Cost $140
In this workshop we will begin by making a one piece press- mould. Students will design surface patterns. A one piece positive is made with clay. The concept of tessellation will be explored to assist surface design. A negative (the plaster mould) will be produced from the positive model made by students.
Since the plaster mould will take up to 2 weeks to dry, students will take their plaster mould home and work on them in their own time.
There will be prepared plaster moulds for the purpose of demonstrations and student trials to show how to assemble pieces of work. From the same plaster mould one can press out one or any number of pieces of the same tile. The tile is then assembled into mugs, vases, boxes etc.
Students will take home their one piece mould and the trial work they have made in the workshop
